Dr. Zhiyong Wu

Dr. Zhiyong Wu has long focused on Chinese medicine care for chronic prostatitis/CP/CPPS. He is the principal designer of the THREM protocol (herbal retention enema combined with perineal massage) and an author of the study published in 2024. He combined traditional herbal formulas with a rectal delivery route to form the combination protocol now used at the clinic. Licensing and service-entity details are shown on request at the in-person visit.

Publication

In 2024, Dr. Wu’s team published in the peer-reviewed journal Translational Andrology and Urology: 20 men with refractory CP/CPPS showed lower pain, urinary and quality-of-life scores at 6-month follow-up after THREM. This is the protocol’s first appearance in the peer-reviewed literature and constitutes preliminary evidence; the team hopes to continue validation with more rigorous designs. How the team works

Daily practice is built on in-person assessment, differential diagnosis and informed consent; patients who are not suitable are advised to address other problems first or are referred on. The team does not publish unaudited case counts or proportions and does not use individual stories as proof of effectiveness; see the Evidence page for how we define evidence boundaries.

Treatment philosophy

For a chronic condition, the realistic goal is measurable improvement in symptoms and quality of life — not a promise of “cure”. The team relies on before-and-after patient-reported scales (NIH-CPSI, IPSS, VAS), encourages patients to bring existing test results and specific questions, and leaves the decision with the fully informed patient.
